Carlisle Support Services is seeking a dedicated Duty Security Manager to work rotating day and night shifts at Coventry University. The role involves managing the Front Line Protection provision and serving as the operational point of contact for on‑duty service delivery.
Responsibilities
* Maintain documentation and records to support a professional Protection service.
* Manage the day‑to‑day operational requirements of the University Control Room.
* Maintain radio equipment and supervise communications between Protection personnel.
* Direct and manage emergency incidents (theft, assault, fire, accident, business continuity, etc.) and adhere to call‑out procedures.
* Oversee the electronic patrol system and operate an effective incident reporting system.
* Respond to the University’s emergency phone line and take appropriate action.
* Monitor and record CCTV activity, maintaining logs and supervising investigatory follow‑up work.
* Manage body‑worn camera usage and maintain follow‑up documentation.
* Monitor and enforce proper use of door access systems and personal alarm devices.
* Complete duty and activity logs and prepare associated documentation.
* Maintain IT logging and reporting systems as required.
* Establish and maintain communication with local police and emergency services.
* Provide advice, support and guidance to University staff and students on protection matters.
* Act as out‑of‑hours welfare support for student needs.
* Directly manage the protection contract and ensure compliance with Health and Safety audit requirements.
* Conduct regular audits of service performance.
* Deliver crime prevention and fire awareness initiatives.
* Supervise administrative processes and fault listings within the control room.
* Deliver one‑to‑one training to all staff.
* Champion the University SafeZone app and analyse related data.
* Manage and adhere to procedural documents from the Office of the University Head of Protection Services.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Training: Associate with a Train‑the‑Trainer qualification and hold a PTLLS or equivalent accredited qualification.
* Instructor: Accredited at Level 3 as an instructor through the NFPS (or a suitable alternative) for Control and Restraint and Breakaway techniques.
* SIA Door Supervision licence.
* SIA CCTV licence (advantageous).
* Full UK driver’s licence with two years’ driving experience and fewer than six points.
* First aid at work – a three‑day qualification is advantageous (may be provided for the right candidate).
* Minimum of five years of checkable work and address history.
* Reliability, punctuality, flexibility and a professional appearance.
* Friendly, approachable and professional demeanor.
* Enthusiastic, motivated and capable of delivering high‑quality service.
* Experience in a security environment and/or customer‑facing role preferred.
* Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with clients and customers.
* Candidates will be required to provide original documentation (passport, driving licence, utility bill, HMRC letter, bank statement, payslip, birth certificate or valid share code) for detailed screening and vetting.
