Will work an on‑call rota in which you will be able to claim an on call allowance.

Responsibilities
* Support and maintain the forces network infrastructure at all times, ensuring day‑to‑day operational running and managing planning, design, development, and documentation of new technical solutions.
* Act as a network subject‑matter expert, providing technical support assurance, guidance, and working unsupervised on infrastructure, network configuration, and security tasks to meet required service levels and comply with Digital Service directorate procedures.
* Ensure the network meets all relevant industry/national/legislative/compliance standards and demonstrates consistency of implementation.
* Understand business requirements, collect data, deliver analysis and recommend options to drive continuous improvement and innovation in infrastructure architecture.
* Identify risks and provide mitigation options, leading to proactive engagement with the technical architect practice.
* Represent effectively, promote the reputation and values of Warwickshire Police and the Digital Services Directorate at internal and external meetings, developing constructive partnerships with relevant organisations.
* Build and maintain relationships with the Managed Service Provider and other suppliers, collaborating with police forces and reporting solutions.
* Undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Knowledge
* Substantial knowledge of Cisco, Avaya telephony, Azure, AWS, zScaler, SolarWinds and Sentinel, gained through significant experience in similar size organisations.
* Strong knowledge of network monitoring & management and supplier management experience.
* Strong knowledge of SD‑WAN, VLAN, Azure vWAN.
* Strong knowledge of static and dynamic routing.
* Successful in applying industry best practice with a knowledge of ISO 20000 (Service Management) and ITSM.
* Authoring of technical design documents and service artefacts.
Experience
* Demonstrated experience of supporting, building and maintaining physical and virtual infrastructure in a similar large complex multi‑faced organisation.
* Strong focus on ICT technologies and operational service delivery.
* Subject‑matter expert from inception through to delivery to the end customer.
Key Skills
* Previous experience gained in complex large organisation.
* Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to gather and assimilate information, think ahead and mitigate risks, find suitable solutions to issues.
* Demonstrate ability to communicate with key stakeholders and suppliers with flexibility to adjust approach and style accordingly.
* Good people skills built on a combination of great listening, empathy, insight and intellect.
* Ability to positively guide others and influence change within organisations.
* Confident in the ability to be professional and influential on key issues within portfolio area.
* Writing and maintaining technical documentation.
Special Conditions
* Requirement to participate in on‑call rota.
* Regular travel throughout Warwickshire.
