Responsibilities
In this role you will help manage the delivery of change to Universal Credit and evolve our approach to release management. You will work on large‑scale programmes, ideally with experience in continuous delivery of transactional web services, and use your skills to influence and coordinate across multiple teams.
You will lead the end‑to‑end release process for Universal Credit Full Service, a critical system supporting over six million households. This includes setting priorities, resolving conflicts, managing risks, and ensuring quality standards are met.
You will be the main point of contact for release management, liaising with infrastructure engineers, developers and stakeholders to keep delivery on track. You will also integrate change and release activities into agile workflows and oversee implementation planning across teams.
Beyond delivery, you will drive continuous improvement by running retrospectives and refining release processes, manage stakeholder communications, user preparation and adoption activities, and ensure each release delivers real value. Regular out‑of‑hours work will be required during weekly releases, and you will play a key role in safeguarding service integrity through effective environment and risk management.
