Offer description

Do you have an inquisitive mind? Do you enjoy engaging with customers? If so, we need you!

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy, helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners, and protecting vulnerable populations. Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt’s (CFCD) goal is to reduce fraud, error, and debt within the benefit system, safeguarding public funds.

As part of CFCD, you will play a key role in DWP’s efforts to minimize fraud and error in the benefit system. This is a vital public service, with challenges greater than ever.

If you seek an organization that values work-life balance, offers opportunities to learn new skills, and supports career progression, CFCD is the right place for you.

The CFCD CBRS Grade 7 (G7) leads the Directorate’s approach to ensuring compliance with Security, Data, and Information requirements. This role involves leading responses to Briefings and departmental requests through a Briefing Hatch function, identifying and mitigating key CFCD risks, and maintaining effective controls to ensure security.

Leading a small team, the G7 will work collaboratively with team members to deliver core functions, including:

* Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate CFCD risks, in line with the DWP Risk Management Framework, and providing narrative input for the DWP Services and Fraud Risk Plan.
* Reporting on risks and mitigation activities to inform decision-making by the Performance Risk and Deployment Board and executive team.
* Integrating risk awareness into everyday business activities.
* Working closely with fraud, error, and debt (FED) Policy and CFCD Functional areas to respond effectively to briefings received via the CFCD Briefing Hatch, ensuring timely responses.
* Developing the Briefing Hatch function to meet increasing FOI requests and briefing requirements.
* Collaborating with DWP Security and Information Management to ensure compliance, manage risks, and develop improvement plans.
* Delivering security, data, and information awareness programs to promote continuous compliance improvement.
* Developing and managing the CFCD Business Continuity Plan within the DWP Business Continuity and Resilience framework.
* Coordinating activities to ensure business-level Business Continuity Plans are in place and tested.
* Supporting and maintaining access to small portals and establishing new processes as needed.
* Supporting the DWP ID Badging Process to assist colleagues requiring identification during visits.

Due to the geographically dispersed team, this role requires frequent travel and overnight stays.

Please ensure your personal statement directly addresses the targeted question in the selection process, demonstrating how your experience aligns with the key criteria for this role.
