Teach and support nursing students in nursing programmes, fostering clinical excellence and inclusive, culturally responsive education.
This role involves teaching theory and clinical courses in both the Bachelor of Nursing and Diploma in Enrolled Nursing programmes. The lecturer will design and deliver learning experiences, assess student progress, and support learners both academically and pastorally. Responsibilities also include contributing to curriculum development, engaging in research, and fostering culturally responsive teaching practices aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
* Registered Nurse with current NZ Practicing Certificate
* A postgraduate qualification, preferably a master’s degree in Nursing or related discipline (or an approved plan to complete within 4 years)
* Current industry/discipline knowledge in general nursing such as acute medical‑surgical, rehabilitation, primary health care, older persons health.
* A minimum of three years full time clinical experience as a registered nurse.
* Clinical and educational qualifications and skills that support teaching of nursing.
* A broad range of clinical practice and skills
* Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating own and others’ learning.
* Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
* The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
* Passionate about nursing and the opportunities to improve practice or give back to nursing through education.
