About the role
Are you a Maintenance Engineer? Have you previously worked in a heavy forge environment? Do you want to work for one of the UK’s leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers? Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) has an exciting opportunity to join their Maintenance Engineering team as a Maintenance Fitter. The role works Monday to Friday, rotating 2‑shift pattern – 6:00 am to 1:30 pm and 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Responsibilities
* Planned preventative maintenance tasks
* Installation of new plant
* Planning mechanical maintenance tasks for completion during shutdown
* Development and upgrading of existing equipment
* Good knowledge of safety and permit to work systems
Qualifications
* Apprentice trained Maintenance Engineer with mechanical bias
* Experience in a heavy forge environment and good working knowledge of hydraulics
* Mobile plant maintenance skills (manipulator, FLT and OHC)
* Experience of breakdowns on presses, hammers, lathes and borers (beneficial but not essential)
