Overview
We are supporting a client who is a long-established material handling business based in Runcorn, they are looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join their team. The company supplies, hires, and services a wide range of forklifts and warehouse equipment across the North West and is known for its quality service, reliability, and friendly, down-to-earth culture.
The Role
You’ll work within a busy workshop, carrying out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on forklifts and related equipment. You’ll handle a variety of makes and models, both diesel, LPG, and electric ensuring all machines are safe, reliable, and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair faults on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
*
Complete routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections
*
Prepare machinery for hire or sale.
*
Maintain clear service records and workshop documentation.
*
Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and safe.
*
Support colleagues in parts, hire, and field service as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
*
Proven background as a workshop, mechanical or electrical engineer.
*
Experience with forklifts, plant, or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
*
Good understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
*
Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
*
Full UK driving licence required.
*
LOLER or forklift qualifications would be an advantage.
