Overview
MATERNITY COVER. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed receptionist to join our friendly team. The post is part time, Monday-Friday 30 hours a week. Hours are between 08:00 and 18:30 (flexible with hours – happy to discuss and accommodate the right candidate). We are ideally looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing with the general public. Delivering high quality services is essential.
Rate of pay and pension: to be discussed. The position offers membership of the NHS pension scheme.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller’s requests appropriately
* Signpost patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
* Taking messages and passing information on
* Dealing with prescription queries in accordance with Practice Guidelines
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers
* Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
* Input data into the patient\'s healthcare records as necessary
* Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
About Us
St David\'s Clinic is a supportive, forward-thinking teaching/training practice involved in research, and a friendly multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals comprising 13 GPs, 2 nurses, 4 HCAs, 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 1 Physician Associate, 1 pharmacist technician, 1 physiotherapist, and 2 onsite Pharmacists.

Job Description
Job responsibilities include offering general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist and direct patients to access the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Undertake administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including clerical support to clinical staff and the team. Facilitate effective communication between patients, the primary care team, secondary care and other healthcare agencies. Shifts across our branch sites (The Gaer Medical Centre and St Brides Medical Centre) between 08:00 and 18:30; shifts to be agreed.
