Location: Barnet Pay: From £109 per day (dependent on experience) Start date: ASAP anzuk Education is proud to partner with a range of primary, secondary and alternative provision schools across Barnet to support the recruitment of Behaviour Mentors. We're seeking passionate individuals from youth work or similar backgrounds who are ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people facing barriers to learning. The Role of a Behaviour Mentor As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll work closely with students, teachers, and support staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning. This is a key pastoral role designed to: Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring to pupils with social, emotional or behavioural challenges Build trusted relationships with students from disadvantaged or challenging backgrounds De-escalate situations using positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches Support teaching staff by modelling effective behaviour interventions and restorative practices Act as a role model, advocate and consistent support figure in school settings Ideal Background of a Behaviour Mentor This role is perfectly suited for individuals with experience as: Youth Workers Mentors or Support Workers in residential or outreach settings Behavioural Support Assistants SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) Practitioners We particularly welcome candidates who have worked with disadvantaged children or in environments where building resilience, trust and emotional regulation is key. What You'll Need as a Behaviour Mentor: Experience working with young people in a support or mentoring capacity Strong behaviour management and conflict resolution skills Resilience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport quickly A proactive and reflective approach to helping students achieve their potential Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through anzuk) At anzuk, we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
