We're seeking passionate individuals from youth work or similar backgrounds who are ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people facing barriers to learning. The Role of a Behaviour Mentor As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll work closely with students, teachers, and support staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning. This is a key pastoral role designed to: Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring to pupils with social, emotional or behavioural challenges Build trusted relationships with students from disadvantaged or challenging backgrounds De-escalate situations using positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches Support teaching staff by modelling effective behaviour interventions and restorative practices Act as a role model, advocate and consistent support figure in school settings Ideal Background of a Behaviour Mentor This role is perfectly suited for individuals with experience as: Youth Workers Mentors or Support Workers in residential or outreach settings Behavioural Support Assistants SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) Practitioners We particularly welcome candidates who have worked with disadvantaged children or in environments where building resilience, trust and emotional regulation is key. What You'll Need as a Behaviour Mentor: Experience working with young people in a support or mentoring capacity Strong behaviour management and conflict resolution skills Resilience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport quickly A proactive and reflective approach to helping students achieve their potential Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through anzuk) At anzuk, we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
