Average 35 hours per week on a 3 on 3 off basis over a 6-week rota.
Durham Gate Care Home is located near Spennymoor, Durham and is recruiting for a brilliantly organized team player to join us as the Head chef manager. Durham Gate is a new purpose built luxury care home opened in October 2023. Come and join us as we build the team for the first new care home in Durham in over fifteen years

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Always present a compassionate and professional image.
* Have excellent verbal/written communication skills.
* Recognized catering qualification and experience requires for this post.
* We are looking for individual who is able to work with cooking fresh seasonal food and deliver Hotel/ restaurant standards and creating nutritious, flavorsome, and well-balanced menu whilst liaise with residents to tailor the menu around their needs.
* To have knowledge and competency around the textures food (IDDSI), Allergies and present the meal in the manner that food should appears and taste same.
* To able to bake nutritional snacks and drinks in the care home.
* You should have a passion for cooking and serving the food to enhance our residents dining experience and knowledge of national care standards.
* Able to manage small catering staff team and their performance.
* Has good understanding of Hand hygiene, infection Control, HACCP, Waste management, COSHH and environmental food standard agency.
* Experience in stock control, ordering, cleaning, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of nutritional requirements of how to prepare food to the expectation and nutritional value.
