We’re supporting a global hygienic manufacturing organisation with a significant capital investment programme in securing a Contract Project Engineer to support delivery across a portfolio of projects.
This role will suit a hands-on, delivery-focused engineer who can operate across the full project lifecycle — from early concept through to execution — while maintaining a strong grip on both technical and commercial outcomes.
Scope of Work
You’ll be embedded within a high-performing project team, supporting multiple capital projects across a complex operational environment.
Key involvement across:
* Feasibility studies & concept development
* FEED (Front-End Engineering Design)
* Detailed design coordination & delivery
* Execution, commissioning, and handover
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate projects from initial feasibility through to completion
* Develop and challenge technical solutions, scopes, and design outputs
* Interface with internal stakeholders, contractors, and design houses
* Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and risks
* Support capacity improvement and optimisation initiatives
* Ensure delivery aligns with engineering standards, safety, and quality expectations
* Provide clear reporting and project visibility to senior stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
* Degree-qualified Engineer (Mechanical, Chemical, Process or similar)
* Experience delivering projects within process-driven environments (e.g. pharma, FMCG, chemicals, manufacturing)
* Strong understanding of project lifecycle delivery (feasibility → Capacity Modelling → FEED → detailed design → Procurement → Instalation)
* Confident working with engineering systems, digital tools, and data
* Good commercial awareness — understands cost drivers, budgets, and value engineering
* Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
* Strong stakeholder communication skills
