At B P Collins LLP, we advise individuals, families, deputies, attorneys and executors on complex and sensitive disputes involving mental capacity, vulnerable individuals, trusts and estates. Our work includes disputes concerning deputyships, attorneys, financial abuse concerns, contested decision‑making, and matters overlapping with contentious probate and private wealth disputes.
Our approach is pragmatic, measured and client‑focused. These matters are often emotionally sensitive and require not only strong technical capability, but also sound judgement, empathy and the ability to guide clients through difficult situations with clarity and confidence.
As our contentious private client practice continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to strengthen our well‑established team. This is an important strategic hire, supporting the continued development of our Court of Protection disputes capability while maintaining the quality and care our clients expect.
This role is suited to an experienced solicitor already operating within the Contentious Probate arena, with experience of Court of Protection disputes, who is looking for greater responsibility, client exposure and progression within a collaborative and commercially grounded team.
You will take the lead on a varied caseload of Contentious Probate work, including Court of Protection and contentious private client matters, managing disputes from initial instruction through to resolution.
The role is expected to include:
Alongside managing your own matters, you will play an important role in advising clients strategically from an early stage, helping families and individuals navigate highly sensitive situations in a practical and commercially sensible way.
You will work closely with Partners, counsel, medical professionals and other advisers where appropriate, while building trusted long‑term client relationships.
The role will also involve:
We are keen to speak with solicitors who have experience of contentious private client work and who are comfortable taking ownership of complex and sensitive matters.
You will ideally have:
Experience appearing in or managing matters before the Court of Protection would be advantageous.
We are particularly interested in individuals who combine strong technical capability with emotional intelligence and sound commercial judgment.
B P Collins believes diversity brings benefits to our clients, our business and our people.
We are committed to being an inclusive employer and encourage applications from all suitable applicants irrespective of background, circumstances, age, disability, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
