They are actively seeking a keen, experienced Hydraulic Modeller, willing to take on a variety of projects alongside an established team of professionals, based near the charming, historical town of Newbury. Benefits for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include (but are not limited to): A competitive salary Company Pension Scheme Generous annual leave entitlement Flexible/hybrid working opportunities Extensive career progression opportunities A close-knit team, within a collaborative working environment Access to a number of exciting, high-profile projects Responsibilities for the role of Hydraulic Modeller Developer include: Creating models using software packages such as Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow Producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Flood Consequence Assessments, Drainage Strategies, etc. Working on Nutrient Neutrality Assessments, hydrological assessments, natural flood management, re-wilding, and wetland management projects Supporting colleagues, producing technical reports based on the data collated collaboratively Liaising closely with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors Required skills and experience for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include: Hold a Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar, relevant discipline Experience of working in a hydraulic modelling/flood risk role, within a UK-based consultancy setting High proficiency in the use of relevant software systems, including Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow Excellent working knowledge of hydrology, including experience of having worked on hydrological projects for residential and commercial projects Have a keen interest in flood risk and drainage, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Experience of working closely with a range of clients and other stakeholders Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Keen interest in data interpretation and manipulation, particularly when applied to report-writing Hold a valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include: Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region A keen interest in climate change and its effects on water-based environments If you are interested in the role of Hydraulic Modeller, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
