Senior Systems Analyst / Programmer Laboratory

This is an exciting opportunity to join the information and technology (IT) team within the Cellular Pathology Clinical Service Unit at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT). We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Analyst / Programmer.
Responsibilities:
* Assist and deputise for the IT Manager in implementing the new LIMS within Cellular Pathology and the South 4 Pathology network.
* Support and develop the current in-house LIMS and databases.
* Provide laboratory data for senior laboratory management team.
* Maintain and develop current and future LIMS solutions.
* Co‑ordinate and develop local and regional digital pathology workflows.
* Participate in strategic development of IT workflows across the department and S4P.
* Maintain accurate documentation of relevant IT systems.
* Manage day‑to‑day local IT infrastructure.
* Train staff in system use.
* Install hardware.
Qualifications:
* BSc in IT / Computer Science.
* GCSE Mathematics (5-9).
* Membership of an appropriate professional body for IM&T.
* Prince 2 Foundation Qualification or similar.
* Advanced programming skills in more than one language.
* Evidence of management experience/training.
* Experience of systems development and maintenance.
* Experience of managing projects and planning specific projects impacting across laboratory disciplines.
* Ability to adapt and design information systems to meet business needs.
* Proficient in testing software across applications.
* Proficient in strategic planning, proposing policy or service change in line with system development.
* Experience working with commercial suppliers.
* Experience using relational database programmes within a business environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Office 365, MS Teams.
* Practical understanding of client/server application.
* Experience in service quality issues and audit.
* Information management experience in a clinical or pathology laboratory setting.
* Experience with FileMaker Pro, Cerner Millennium build tools, HL7 messaging.
Other Requirements:
* Live within a reasonable travelling distance of the John Radcliffe Hospital.
* Car owner; ability to drive.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check required, subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £49,387 to £56,515 per annum pro rata.
