Overview

The South Camden Community Team (SCCT) supports the mental health and emotional well-being of children and young people (0-18 years) in the culturally diverse borough of Camden. SCCT works to the Thrive model of service delivery and provides consultation, assessment, therapy and training based on evidence based practice. SCCT is comprised of a multidisciplinary team, including Child Psychotherapy, Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology, CBT, Family Therapy and Psychiatry. The team works with partners in schools, Local Authority and the voluntary sector. You will be required to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering a range of evidence based, and complex interventions and responsible for the formulation and delivery of specialised programmes of care. There will also be opportunities to contribute to service development projects such as patient and public involvement as well as equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives. The post holder will be the linked CAMHS clinician to a secondary school, up to one day per week. There may also be opportunities to provide regular and on-going consultation support to a number of primary schools.

Person Specification

Essential

* HCPC Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist) or equivalent qualification. Or BABCP Registered CBT Therapist
* Evidence of clinical experience working with relevant client population (Child and Adolescent Mental Health 0-18s).
* Clinical experience of assessing mental health and wellbeing needs of clients
* Experience of managing clinical complexity and high-risk patients.
* A comprehensive understanding of the changing NHS and Social Care environment and the challenges they face
* Experience of working at all levels of the system with internal and external stakeholders
* High level of skill and knowledge in safeguarding and risk management
* Basic keyboard skills for updating client records; ability to manage own clinical caseload
* Demonstrate equality, diversity and inclusion awareness and application of EDI issues

Desirable

* Further post graduate training in therapeutic modalities.
* Experience working within a Thrive Model of service delivery
* Experience working with neurodivergence, including adapting therapeutic approach as appropriate.
* Experience of involvement in project work e.g. quality improvement
* Experience of working with schools to support student mental health.
