The role
We're seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Environmental Assessment and Advice Team in Southwest Wales. This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the protection and sustainable management of our natural resources through a combination of fieldwork, technical support, and data analysis.
As part of the team, you'll be involved in delivering environmental monitoring and advice across Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, and parts of Ceredigion. You'll be based at one of our offices within the region, with the flexibility to work from home and a significant amount of fieldwork during key periods of the year.
The role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including collecting water quality samples from rivers, lakes, and coastal bathing waters, conducting ecological surveys such as kick-sampling for invertebrates and diatoms, and supporting electrofishing operations. You'll also be responsible for operating monitoring equipment in aquatic environments, assisting with terrestrial and geological SSSI monitoring, and contributing to team functions such as equipment maintenance, administrative support, and health and safety management.
You'll need to be confident working outdoors in a variety of field conditions, including remote locations and in or near water. A valid UK manual driving licence is essential, as is the ability to swim and...
