Due to our continued success and growth, we are now looking for a Field Sales Representative to join our team, covering the Midlands and Wales. We are not necessarily looking for previous experience but we are looking for an ambitious, self‑motivated applicant willing to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic customer‑facing role. Suitable for those looking to take their first step into external sales or for an existing Sales Representative looking for a new challenge, the successful applicant will receive all the guidance and support they need to be successful in the role.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Presenting, promoting and selling products/services to existing and prospective customers
* Planning travel throughout the Midlands and Wales territory and visiting customers on a recurring basis, which may include overnight stays
* Maintaining an in‑depth understanding of the company’s products/services to advise and make suitable recommendations
* Conducting calls and face‑to‑face meetings with customers daily
* Identifying, developing, establishing and maintaining positive business and customer relationships
* Co‑ordinating sales effort with team members and other departments including estimating
* Analysing the territory/market potential, tracking sales and status reporting
* Maintaining records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts using our Customer Relations Management (CRM) system
* Regular market research and monitoring of competitor activity
* Meeting pre‑agreed sales targets, continuously growing client base
* Representing the brand during all customer and prospect interactions
* Attending trade shows around the country, which may include weekend/overnight stays and evenings
* Providing product training and educating existing/potential customers on all products
* Resolving customer complaints and concerns
* Regular reporting to line manager

* Ability to sell products/services
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
* Desire to learn and develop your career
* Punctual with good attention to detail
* Experience of managing a sales territory would be a bonus but not essential
* Background in the timber/building merchant industry would be a bonus but not essential
Salary & Benefits
* Starting salary of £28,000‑£34,000 per year based on experience
* Annual bonus structure
* Company car, phone & laptop
* 28 days annual holiday (including Bank Holiday & 5 days compulsory over Christmas period)
* Continuous training and support
* Working hours – Monday to Friday 8am‑5pm, some weekend/evening work may be required
