Digital i is where tech and TV collide! We’re a TV analytics company based in Bristol UK, specialising in unravelling unique insights from viewing data for both video on demand (VoD) platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, as well as traditional channels such as BBC 1 and ITV.
In 2019, we shook up the industry with SoDA, our award-winning project redefining audience measurement on a global scale. Now, with big expansion plans on the horizon, we're on the hunt for a Data Engineer to help shape the next era of video on demand analytics.
About the role
We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Engineering team to help develop the next generation of our industry-leading video on demand analytics platform.
Your mission? Dive deep into the world of data pipelines, crafting and refining the systems that transform raw viewing data into actionable insights. Picture this: cleaning, analysing, and orchestrating meticulous quality checks to ensure our customers receive nothing short of top-notch insights on the hottest streaming trends.
But that's not all – you’ll have the opportunity to flex your skills across our entire tech stack. From fine-tuning our data collection applications to enriching our metadata library, you'll play a pivotal role in elevating our platform to new heights.
Our ideal candidate would have:
* 3+ years experience in a Data-focussed engineering role
* Deep experience with Python for data transformation
* Expert SQL abilities
* Experience working with Snowflake
* Comfortable working with and using Git, Github & Jira
* A deep understanding of working with third party APIs
* A collaborative mindset & an interest in coaching & mentoring fellow engineers
Bonus points for candidates with:
* Experience working with Looker and writing LookML
* Experience working with numerous AWS services
* A detailed understanding of CI/CD practices & tooling
* A research or mathematical background
* Experience working with dbt & dbt cloud
* Experience working with Data Orchestration tooling (e.g. Dagster, Prefect, etc)
* Experience working with Data Ingestion tooling (e.g. FiveTran, Keboola, etc)
* Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (e.g. Terraform)
* Experience working with Node.js / TypeScript
* An interest in and understanding of AI & ML

2. Engineering Manager Interview Meet Dani, our Engineering Manager. Here you’ll find out a bit more about the company & the role, we’ll find out more about you & your motivations, and you can ask us any questions.
3. Technical Interview - Here we’ll dive deeper into your technical abilities by working on an engineering challenge together with some of our Engineers. We’ll ask some technical questions, and you’ll get a chance to ask our Engineers anything you like.
4. General Manager Interview - Meet Matt, our General Manager. Here we’ll ask some questions to assess your fit against our company values and culture, and again you’ll have another chance to ask us any questions.
