Job summary The aim is to appoint a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in antenatal care and bereavement services to join the established team at University Hospitals Sussex (UHSussex). This is a 12-month fixed-term post for a Secondment Cover, and we are seeking a capable and enthusiastic colleague who will contribute to high-quality general O&G services while supporting the continued development of antenatal and bereavement care during the contract period. Main duties of the job o Run antenatal and general gynaecology outpatient clinics. o Undertake inpatient theatre lists and day-case gynaecology operating sessions. o Support the development of bereavement services at UHSussex, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. o Contribute to the development of gynaecology services, including the pelvic pain service. o Undertake and further develop outpatient ultrasound scanning and outpatient hysteroscopy procedures. o Lead and develop the fetal wellbeing service at PRH, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care. o Participate in the on-call rota for obstetrics and gynaecology. o Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education and supervision, including support for ATSM and SITM trainees where relevant. o Be actively involved in service development and innovation, supporting continuous improvement across maternity and gynaecology services. o Engage with and support ongoing research themes and projects within the department. o Contribute to complaint and incident management, clinical governance activities, and associated clinical administration.
