A leading manufacturer of cutting tools is seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Engineer to maintain and grow sales across the East Midlands manufacturing sector. This is a key role for a self‑starter with a strong understanding of metal cutting and machining processes, particularly within aerospace, oil & gas, and automotive industries.
Key Responsibilities
* Track and report on sales performance, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
* Maintain and expand business development with existing key accounts in cutting tools.
* Identify and generate new business opportunities to grow the customer base.
* Prepare quotations and follow up effectively.
* Collaborate with colleagues to respond to customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
* Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales and market penetration in the territory.
* Represent the company at trade fairs and industry events.
Candidate Requirements
* Engineering background with experience in aerospace, oil & gas, or automotive sectors is advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of metal cutting and machining processes.
* Proven sales experience with a track record of success.
* Resourceful, with strong problem‑solving skills.
* Competent in IT tools and software for sales and reporting.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Confident in customer engagement and relationship building.
* Self‑motivated, independent, and results‑driven.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
