Location: Remote with adhoc visits to Reading when required (minimal)\n\nDuration: 6 month initial contract\n\nInside IR35\n\nRole details:\nOur client, a leading provider in defence and security technology, is currently seeking a Configuration and Data Management Engineer (CDME) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel required near Reading. The successful candidate will work within the TTS Mission Area, supporting a training programme with the Royal Navy.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nEnsuring that all required contract data is properly identified, scheduled, marked, approved, inspected, submitted, and accepted.\nAdministering the project's Configuration Change Control Board (CCCB).\nSupporting ongoing data management processes, including CMMI, IPDP, and DM internal audit gate review activities.\nApplying and administering configuration planning.\nEnsuring configuration identification, change management, verification, and audits in compliance with standards.\nManaging digital files and work products, including those imported from the Authority and suppliers.\nChampioning and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.\nEnsuring that all programme-related information is effectively stored and controlled at the contract's close-out.\nAny other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nExperience with configuration and data management systems, such as Windchill.\nUnderstanding of records management.\nKnowledge of CMDM processes and artefacts.\nGeneral awareness of the five configuration management pillars.\nUnderstanding the importance of handling data and documents according to the Government Security Classification Policy (GSCP).\nExperience with SharePoint and/or Kahootz.\n\nAbout You:\n\nYou should have a solid understanding of configuration and data management principles ideally within the defence sector.
