Why this role matters You’ll be building the internal communications function of a brand-new company at the forefront of the global energy transition. The Internal Communications Lead will directly shape how employees experience, understand, and engage with JERA Nex bp’s mission and leadership during its formative years. The successful candidate will navigate the unique complexities of a joint venture with a global footprint, providing hands-on support for executive communications and leading initiatives that reinforce our mission in the rapidly evolving energy sector. In this role you will : This is a wide-ranging role, one the successful candidate will be able to shape as they build our internal communications function from the ground up. There’s a lot to do, but you’ll be supported by the Head of Communications and SVP, Communications, Public Affairs & Sustainability, alongside HR and Transition leads. As we build our company, here are the areas you’ll be focused on. Internal Communications Strategy & Planning Design and deliver JERA Nex bp’s internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and culture development to create clarity during transformation. Establish and manage core communications channels (intranet, newsletters, town halls, leadership updates, digital platforms). Develop content plans that ensure consistent messaging across multiple employee groups and geographies. Executive & Leadership Communications Provide strategic counsel and hands-on support to the SVP, Head of Communications and senior leaders on all internal messaging. Shape leadership visibility strategies to foster trust, alignment, and engagement. Draft and edit high-impact communications, including company-wide announcements, executive emails, leadership talking points, and presentations for town halls and internal events. Change & Culture Communications Partner with HR and Transition leaders to shape and drive communications for change management initiatives (e.g. organizational design, integration and transformation programs) helping to guide employees through periods of transformation. Develop and manage communications programs designed to establish and embed the new JERA Nex bp culture, fostering a sense of shared purpose and identity. Facilitate transparent, two-way communication to build employee trust and engagement. Employee Engagement & Content Development Deliver creative, accessible communications that bring complex technical and strategic information to life for all audiences. Own and manage all internal communication channels, including the intranet, newsletters, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Viva Engage, Teams). Produce compelling content that connects employees across multiple locations with diverse professional backgrounds to JERA Nex bp’s vision, values and strategy. Measurement & Continuous Improvement Define KPIs and metrics for internal communications effectiveness, regularly reporting outcomes to leadership. Recommend improvements to channels, tools, and messaging based on data and employee feedback. Establish content calendars and measurement frameworks to track the effectiveness of communications and inform future strategy. To be successful in the role you will bring : Strong candidates will combine strategic acumen with hands-on delivery, and: 8 years of professional experience in internal communications, change communications and/or employee engagement (in-house or consultancy). Demonstrated success designing and implementing internal communication strategies in complex, matrixed, or global organisations. Experience shaping and delivering leadership messaging, change communications, and culture development programs. Strong multi-channel storytelling skills – able to simplify complexity. Hands-on delivery capability. Experience with a variety of internal communication channels and digital platforms. Energy sector or technical industry experience is a plus, but not essential.
