Our Smoking Cessation 1:1 Workers offer vital support to help young people in schools and in the community stop smoking or vaping. The work can be challenging but it's always rewarding and you will be making a real difference to people's lives. You will be working as part of an amazing team at WithYou and supporting Change, Grow, Live to deliver the young people's element of the service - Lancashire Smoke Free.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role, as this position will cover Central and North Lancashire.
Job Opportunity
As a Smoking Cessation 1:1 Worker, you'll be managing a caseload of young people who want support with smoking or vaping habits.. You'll work with them to assess their needs, develop support plans, deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed. You will liaise with schools and community settings to arrange appointments and sometimes work online.
You will also engage with young people and professionals to deliver information on smoking and vaping and prevention work..
Essential Skills
We're looking for:
* Excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Experience and/or a qualification in substance misuse, mental health, psychology, nursing or youth work
* The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills knowledge and experience
* Good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations
* The ability to record and maintain accurate case details and in a timely manner
* Effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media
