A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE KITCHEN PORTER AT THE IMPERIAL HOTEL BLACKPOOL
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following:
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, which will include washing dishes, pots, pans and utensils, as well as cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors and equipment.
* Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping and organising ingredients.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues to the Head Chef.
* Assist with the unloading and the correct storage of food and stock deliveries.
* Manage the disposal of kitchen waste and recycling, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.

To succeed in the role of Kitchen Porter, you will need the following qualities and skills:
* Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
* Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and stand for long periods.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
* Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or similar role is preferred but not essential.
