South West Provider Collaborative Head of Service
Job Summary
Devon Partnership NHS Trust is the Lead Provider for the South West Provider Collaborative. We provide medium and low secure mental health care, specialist community forensic teams, Perinatal Inpatient Services, CAMHS Tier 4 and Adult Eating Disorders services across the south west of England. Our population covers around five million people across approximately 22,000 square kilometres. The role is a senior leadership position within the commissioning division, reporting to the Deputy Director of Collaborative Commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality commissioning of specialist mental health services across the south west of England.
* Lead and transform commissioning activities with autonomy, at pace and at scale across multiple stakeholders.
* Collaborate closely with clinical leads, experts by experience, the Deputy Medical Director and other senior leaders.
* Support the strategic development of commissioning plans, service planning, needs analysis and resource allocation.
* Manage staff, including setting objectives, appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues.
Essential Experience
* Specialist commissioning experience in at least one of the SWPC service lines.
* Advanced report writing, service planning, needs analysis and presentation skills.
* Strategic planning and a demonstrated ability to lead transformational change at a significant level.
* Senior management experience within healthcare.
Skills & Abilities
* High level emotional intelligence, emotional gravitas and the ability to hold a vision for the business unit.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, able to constructively question information from others.
* Excellent data analysis and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative conclusions.
* Leadership, vision, strategic thinking with highly developed political skills.
* Proof of ongoing professional development and post‑qualifying training.
Qualifications
* Degree or master’s level education or equivalent senior level experience.
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas across more than one discipline.
* Evidence of post‑qualifying and continuing professional development.
