Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Critical Care nurse who has an interest in or experience in education. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and competency of the team within Critical Care. The position blends clinical expertise with educational leadership to ensure high standards of patient care through staff education, mentoring and training. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week as part of the Critical Care Multi Disciplinary Team. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to provide education and mentorship to Critical Care staff.
Organization and Team
The Surgical division includes specialties such as general surgery, breast, ENT, urology, orthopaedics, and ophthalmology. This is inclusive of theatres including day-case and the Critical Care department. The division also provides clinical services departments such as out-patient departments. This makes for a vast and varied division of services with a common focus of providing safe and effective patient care. Here at Bolton, Critical Care has amalgamated its intensive care and high dependency units and is currently an 18 bedded unit caring for both level 3 and level 2 patients. These patients have a variety of different needs.
Responsibilities
* Be a motivated, hardworking Critical Care Practice Based Educator with excellent communication skills and a passion for clinical education and improving patient care.
* Provide clinically excellent care and be supportive to patients, relatives, and MDT members while working with passion and drive.
* Support the development and competency of the Critical Care team through education, mentoring and training.
* Work flexibly to provide education and mentorship to Critical Care staff as part of the Critical Care Multi Disciplinary Team.
Qualifications
* Registered Critical Care nurse with interest in or experience in education.
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for clinical education and improving patient care.
