Role Overview: As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing procurement activities and supplier relationships within the organization. Leveraging your expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management, you will lead procurement initiatives to optimize costs, mitigate risks, and ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services to support business operations and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing: Input into the development and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline procurement processes, and enhance supplier performance.
2. Supplier Management: Manage relationships with key suppliers, including contract manufacturers, distributors, and service providers, to ensure alignment with business objectives and performance expectations. Conduct evaluations, performance reviews, and audits to monitor and improve supplier performance.
3. Procurement Process: Lead the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Develop relationships with Accounts Payable to reduce administrative burdens.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with department heads, project managers, and finance teams to gather procurement requirements, assess demand, and develop procurement plans.
5. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to achieve cost savings and favorable terms. Review contract terms for compliance and standards.
6. Supplier Diversity and Compliance: Promote diversity initiatives and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Monitor supplier compliance and address issues proactively.
7. Risk Management: Identify and assess supply chain risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
8. Cost Analysis and Reporting: Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and prepare reports and dashboards for management review.
Skills and Experience: Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management. Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Relevant degree or professional qualification in procurement or related fields, with professional memberships (e.g., CIPS) being advantageous.
