We are pleased to offer two substantive posts for registered Mental Health Professionals to join our complex health team in our new Adult Mental Health Specialist roles.
You will have post-registration experience working with and supporting people over the age of 18 with mental health needs. Your expertise will support the ongoing services we provide at Colchester Hospital for adults admitted with mental health-related needs. These specialist posts have been approved to complement our existing services for people with complex health needs, including those with Dementia, Learning Disabilities, and mental health needs in children and young people.
The post holders will provide clinical intervention, leadership, and training on care delivery for adults with mental health needs. They will develop care packages and programs of care for patients, including those who self-harm or have eating disorders, and work closely with multi-agency partners to meet the needs of the child or young person and their family.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical leadership and training to improve care experiences for adults with mental health needs.
2. Develop care packages and programs for adults, including older adults, with complex needs such as self-harm or eating disorders, involving multi-agency collaboration.
3. Communicate sensitive information with empathy to patients and families, including diagnosis and prognosis, ensuring understanding and reassurance.
