Senior Estimator, Landscaping
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 + Car & Package
Location: Hybrid, Home, and Woking Office
Type: Permanent
The continuing growth of this specialist Landscaping Contractor means that they are looking to recruit a Senior Estimator with experience in landscaping, groundworks, or civils. The company is an award-winning landscaping and civil engineering specialist delivering high-quality projects throughout the UK. Their portfolio spans sectors including local authorities, royal parks, commercial developers, schools, universities, high-end luxury developers, and the RHS.
Much of their work results from the quality of their portfolio and the long-term relationships they have built with clients over the past 50 years.
The Job:
* Working with the Commercial Director to prepare and submit Tender Packages for landscaping works valued between £100k and £5m.
* Reviewing the Scope of Works and Specifications for each project, assessing financial integrity and contractual commitments.
* Measuring PDF drawings to determine the scope of works and producing Bills of Quantities when necessary for pricing.
* Distributing subcontract bid packages and obtaining prices for all elements of the tender.
* Assisting clients with technical feedback during the tender and award process.
* Assigning or proposing profit margins based on department guidelines.
* Pricing bills of quantities and entering supplementary bid information.
* Identifying risks or concerns within schemes and discussing them with the Senior Estimator.
* Attending pre- and post-contract meetings with clients.
* Maintaining the tender register and contacting clients for bid updates.
* Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
The Person:
* Currently working in an estimating role within a landscaping, groundworks, or civils company.
* Experience with estimating software is preferred.
* Experience in preparing and submitting tenders for commercial landscaping, groundworks, or general construction projects.
* Understanding of contracts and project risk management.
* Good IT skills, including MS Office and Excel.
* Organized with good time management skills and experience meeting tender deadlines.
* A construction qualification is useful but primary experience is more important.
* Current driving license (essential).
