Overview
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Adults of Working Age Specialist Community Mental Health Team in Wigan. We welcome applicants with experience at Band 5 in mental health and those currently practicing at Band 6 seeking a new and exciting role. You will be part of an established multi-disciplinary Specialist Community Mental Health Team (SCMHT), based at Claire House in Ince and covering the Wigan and Leigh area.
You will work with a small team of Occupational Therapists and support staff, and be part of the wider team. We encourage diverse, innovative ideas to support the continued development of this service and are committed to supporting your professional development through 1-1 and peer support, local, divisional and Trust-wide CPD and training.
The post holder will case manage a caseload of service users with needs around occupational identity, performance and participation. They will provide assessment and intervention aimed at improving these areas so service users can live the lives they want and need. The role may involve care co-ordination / case management and may involve duty work as the service needs dictate.
It is an exciting time to join the team as the Trust develops its Occupational Therapy pathways in line with Community Transformation plans, supporting professionals to practice in a way that aligns with their professional training and background.
Responsibilities
* Case management or care coordination for a caseload of service users with occupational identity, performance and participation needs.
* Conduct assessments and deliver interventions to improve daily living, participation and occupational performance.
* Provide active support to learners, including student and apprentice placements.
* Participate in duty arrangements as required by the service.
Professional Development
* Full range of mandatory training and CPD opportunities with emphasis on the Model of Human Occupation.
* Supervision and development opportunities 1-1, peer support, local, divisional and Trust-wide CPD and training.
