Main duties of the job
* To provide secretarial support
* Experience of working in a GP Practice preferred but not essential
* To assist the Practice with all secretarial duties.
* To provide an efficient secretarial service for GPs and
* To assist clinical staff by obtaining information about the progress of referrals when requested.

Job responsibilities
* To assist the Practice with all medical secretarial duties
* To make appointments, bookings and admissions as required.
* To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
* To provide an efficient secretarial service for GPs and-associated health professionals as required in linewith current policies, procedures and systems.
* To assist clinical staff by obtaining information about the progress of referrals when requested.
* To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
* To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
* To receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system in line with the protocols of the Practice.
* To participate in the induction and training of new team members to ensure they meet their objectives.
* To ensure all individually attended training sessions are cascaded to all members of the Practice team.
* To undertake any other duties commensurate with the scope of the role and within your skill set as requested.
