Geospatial Engineer – Construction of a Major Battery Manufacturing Project

A leading UK construction contractor is seeking an experienced Geospatial Engineer to support the delivery of a major 15GWh battery manufacturing facility. This large‑scale project includes advanced production buildings, external civils work, infrastructure installation and extensive surveying and setting‑out requirements.
This role is ideal for a Geospatial or Setting Out Engineer looking for long‑term project stability and involvement in a high‑profile energy‑sector development.
The Role
Working closely with the Senior Geospatial Engineer, Project Engineers and Site Management teams, you will deliver essential surveying, geospatial engineering and setting‑out support to ensure accuracy and efficiency across all construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Geospatial Management
* Lead and coordinate all geospatial engineering tasks to meet project specifications.
* Ensure compliance with site standards and survey requirements.
Quality Assurance & As‑Built Documentation
* Produce accurate As‑Built drawings and maintain robust QA records.
* Support handover processes with complete, verified geospatial documentation.
Technical Reporting
* Prepare clear technical reports, survey updates and documentation for key stakeholders.
Surveying & Setting Out
* Deliver precise setting‑out data to support construction operations.
* Carry out on‑site surveying using GNSS, total stations and digital tools.
Project Collaboration
* Advise project management on geospatial matters and work closely with engineering teams.
Survey Control
* Establish, verify and maintain survey control networks, issuing updates as required.
Data Management
* Capture, store and maintain all survey and geospatial data in line with project protocols.
* Keep accurate and accessible survey records for the wider team.
About You
* Experience as a Geospatial Engineer, Setting Out Engineer, Land Surveyor, or similar construction role.
* Technical qualifications such as HND, City & Guilds or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety on construction sites.
* Familiarity with Trimble Business Centre, AutoCAD and modern surveying equipment.
* Broad knowledge of civil engineering and construction processes.
