Working Pattern: 5 of 7 and shift times assigned based on business needs, but primarily day time work (to support expanded hub operations)

Our Junior Engineer position is for someone who will ensure the smooth operation of the WDS Basildon sorter by performing preventative maintenance, responding to emergency repairs, and supporting the lead engineer. Basildon features a unique parcel over-labeller/sorter system, and this role is critical to keeping it running efficiently.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
1. Performing preventative maintenance on the sorter and associated systems
2. Responding to emergency repairs to minimise downtime
3. Liaising with and reporting to the lead engineer on system performance and issues
4. Troubleshooting unlabelled parcels and dump chute parcels
5. Collaborating with Operations Managers and Supervisors to ensure smooth workflow
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Qualifications:
6. Engineering-related qualification preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
7. Minimum 1 year of practical engineering experience
8. Previous experience with parcel sorter systems is highly desirable
Technical & People Skills:
9. Strong hands-on engineering skills
10. Ability to give and receive clear, constructive feedback
11. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
