Job Summary
Thorpe‑Le‑Soken Surgery is seeking an experienced advanced nurse practitioner or an experienced emergency care practitioner (ECP)/paramedic for 20‑30 hours a week to join our friendly, supportive, and caring team. The post‑holder will work between Thorpe Surgery and our branch surgery in Kirby Cross.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic primary care environment, combining autonomous clinical decision‑making with direct patient care and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Main Duties of the Job
* Act as duty clinician, triaging and managing urgent patient presentations.
* Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and minor illness.
* Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care in face‑to‑face clinics.
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Prescribe medications (if qualified) and manage care plans appropriately.
* Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in emergency situations and telephone triage, using a variety of techniques to elicit the history of an event/illness, including past medical and drug history.
Qualifications – Essential
* Qualified ANP, ECP, paramedic practitioner, or equivalent.
* Registered with the relevant professional body (HCPC or NMC).
* Current UK professional registration.
Experience – Essential
* Experience in urgent or primary care settings.
* Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
