This high quality care home in this leafy Rural village with transport links to Skipton and Ilkley caters for up to 35 residents, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinners for early evening meals, all made fresh in house, including all cakes and pastries, so a knowledge of basic bakery is a must.
Working within a 2 chef team, alongside the Head chef, everything is set up here to allow you to succeed, from the very well supplied kitchen and kit, to the fresh food menu's which you will be asked to contribute to designing, to the industry leading support and compliance procedures, everything is in place to allow you to be at your best every day.
Responsibilities
* Work within a 2 chef team alongside the Head Chef
* Contribute to the design and development of fresh food menus
* Prepare meals from fresh ingredients for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner
* Ensure all dishes are produced to high quality and presented well
* Comply with health and safety procedures including COSHH and food safety standards
* Maintain knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication
* Provide customer-facing support to discuss dietary needs with residents/patients
* Work with fresh seasonal produce and baking/cake making
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years working as a chef in a fresh food setting
* Comfortable being customer facing for dietary consultations
* Experience working in a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Health & safety procedures including COSHH and food safety standards
* Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication
* Experience working with fresh seasonal produce
* Baking & cake making skills
* Own means of transport would be ideal due to location
