Care and Support Assistant Specializing in Challenging Behaviour
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Care and Support Assistant specializing in challenging behaviour to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and assistance to individuals with challenging behaviour in domiciliary care and community settings.
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct care and support to individuals with challenging behaviour, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
* Implement care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of each client.
* Monitor and record client behaviour, progress, and any incidents, reporting findings to the appropriate supervisor.
* Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks.
* Support clients in accessing community resources, activities, and social opportunities.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the care team, including healthcare professionals, family members, and external agencies.
* Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Drive clients to appointments, outings, and activities as required (valid driver's license essential).
* Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering positive relationships and rapport.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a care or support role, preferably with individuals with challenging behaviour.
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
* Compassionate and patient demeanour with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
* Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
* Eligible to work in England without the need for sponsorship.
