An opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join a Tier 1 Main Contractor. We are looking for an experienced Estimator to to cover projects in sectors including Custodial, Defence, Healthcare and Education on projects in the region up to £50M
Ideally, you will based in or around the Leicester area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
What you will be doing:
As an Estimator you will be a key member of the preconstruction team to support the business through the submission of accurate and competitive tenders to satisfy the clients requirements and to ensure the Company secures adequate new business to achieve targeted turnover and profit levels with appropriate year on year growth.

1. Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with the procurement team in the selection of appropriate companies from whom quotations should be sought.
2. Obtain sufficient quotations to enable valid commercial judgements at the tender finalisation meetings
3. Provide all information necessary to enable the review of the conditions of contract, insurance, bonds, and warranties
4. Produce analytical rate build up information for Bills of Quantities in an accurate and well detailed format
5. Continually refine analytical cost data derived from feedback
6. Identify and analyse opportunities to give a commercial advantage to tenders
7. Identify and analyse risks and produce a risk register for each tender
8. Prepare preliminary cost estimates.
9. Preparation of commercial documents for tender submission
10. Attend tender finalisation meetings, present all relevant cost information, and complete the tender as instructed
About You:
11. Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
12. Knowledge of estimating process utilising a computerised analytical estimating system i.e Conquest
13. Experience in risk management techniques
14. Previous relevant business experience or transferable skills gained in other areas
15. Equivalent of Level 3 NVQ or Certificate Level qualification. Graduate entry point
16. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
17. Collaborative attitude
18. Influencing, negotiation and delegation skills
19. Critical analysis and decision-making skills
20. Manages time efficiently, plans and prioritises work activities
21. Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications
22. Commercial awareness and technical knowledge
23. Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
