It’s a chance to be the steady, encouraging presence that helps young people feel seen, heard and capable.Role overviewAs a Youth Worker within the school setting, you’ll support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to regulate emotions, engage with learning and develop positive social skills. You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to provide consistent, relationship-led support tailored to each young person’s needs.You’ll play a key role in promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and personal development.Key responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to young people with SEN and SEMHBuild strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and personal growthSupport emotional regulation and positive behaviour using restorative and trauma-informed approachesAct as a positive role model, promoting respect, resilience and self-beliefHelp pupils re-engage with learning following periods of disruption or challengeWork collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agenciesSupport the implementation of personalised plans and strategies Requirements Previous experience working with young people in youth work, mentoring, education or care settings is preferredStrong communication and relationship-building skillsConfidence supporting young people with behavioural or emotional needsA genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and succeed Not Thrive trained yet?
