Role Overview: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a child with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans and provide personalized support to ensure the child’s academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, adapting learning materials and activities to meet their individual needs.
2. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor the child’s progress.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the child’s confidence and independence.
4. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s education.
5. Support the child with personal care needs, if required.
Requirements:
6. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a 1:1 capacity.
7. A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and a commitment to their development.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
10. Relevant qualifications (, CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
