The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) to recruit a Mechanical Inspector. Based in their Ballymena office within the Programme Delivery team, which is a multi-disciplinary and professional in-house operation that delivers the Housing Executive’s Planned Scheme Improvement programmes. This organisation has more than 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 members of staff throughout NI.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will provide an inspection service on all Natural Gas, Oil, planned and response maintenance contracts to ensure the NIHE that all installations, servicing, and maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the contract documentation and the Statutory Regulations, materials and workmanship. You will inspect and measure workspleted at various stages throughout construction, including relevant certifications updating these on the NIHEputer database and maintain detailed records. You will forward a report on your findings to the M&E Project Manager/Inspectorate Manager on a weekly basis.
What you'll need to succeed
You will either be a Time Served Plumber/Gas Engineer/Pipefitter with over 4 years relevant experience.OrBTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma qualified Mechanical engineer with 3 years post qualification experience in construction maintenance.Or A degree or equivalent qualification in a Technical/Construction related discipline, plus 2 years’ post qualification experience in construction maintenance.The post holder must be conversant with 17th edition 2008 andply with subsequent editions as required. Must have the following qualifications:Gas Safe: CCN1, CENWAT OFTEC: 101, 105 & 600You must have a full UK Driving licence with access to a vehicle.
What you'll get in return
Salary range, up to £36,363.You will get the opportunity to work for a large Housing Body on an ongoing temporary contract. This position offers an immediate start, weekly payment every Friday morning with all business mileage expenses being reimbursed at 45p per mile. The role allows for an excellent work-life balance with the working hours amounting to 37 per week, some hybrid working along with an annual holiday entitlement of 35 days, inclusive of stats.
