The Director of Resources will ensure that the organisation has appropriate resources in place to deliver services to the various teams and will monitor and control delivery.
This role will help develop new opportunities, shared standards, services and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness, including the use of technology.
It also focuses on strategic planning, resource management and risk oversight to support the smooth and effective operation of the organisation.
The Director of Resources will be a member of the senior management team and will play a vital senior role in contributing to the overall leadership of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing three Heads of Resources Departments, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment across various functions. This role requires regular interaction with Directors, Trustees, Managers, and Staff as well as external stakeholders, providing a broad and enriching professional network.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring three Heads of Resources Departments, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment across Finance and Procurement, People and Infrastructure management.
- Liaising with senior leadership, including Directors and Trustees, to align departmental goals with the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders to drive initiatives and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A good understanding and experience of managing business’s human, financial and infrastructure resources.
* Significant senior management experience in the relevant fields, including finance, HR and IT.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in financial planning and management.
* Proven leadership experience, with a history of managing and developing teams.
* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
* Excellent communication and people skills, capable of building relationships at all levels.
* Experience working at the senior leadership and board level.
* Knowledge of compliance and corporate governance best practices.
* Experience in managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships.
* Education/ Qualifications: Experienced qualified accountants (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) with significant commercial and business experience post-qualification or able to demonstrate equivalent capabilities.
