Divisional Secondary Education Recruitment Consultant – Nottingham
This is an opportunity for an experienced education recruitment consultant to join an established teacher supply agency based just outside Nottingham city centre. The office is not in the city centre, making it easier to access, with free car parking and a straightforward commute.
The business currently covers Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire across Primary and SEND. They are now looking to properly develop and scale their Secondary division.
The basic salary is up to £45,000 plus commission up to 17.5% with no threshold.
Office hours during term time are 7:30am to 4:30pm. During school holidays, hours reduce to 9:00am to 3:00pm.
This is not a corporate environment. The Directors have all come from large national teacher supply agencies and deliberately built this business to be the opposite. There are no unrealistic KPIs, no layers of approval, and no internal politics. If you need something agreed, you go directly to the Directors and get a decision.
Both Directors have families of their own and understand real life. If you need time for family-related matters, school commitments, dentist or doctor appointments, you are trusted to manage your time without it being docked off your annual leave. You are treated like an adult.
Holiday entitlement is generous, and the business shuts down over the Christmas period without that time coming out of your annual leave. It’s structured to allow people to perform properly while still having a life outside work.
Staff retention is extremely strong. The only people who have left have stepped away from recruitment altogether. The culture is informal, high-performing and straightforward.
The Role
* This is a full 360 role focused on building and developing Secondary school business across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
* There are two clear routes depending on your ambition.
* You can come in and run your own Secondary desk, building and scaling supply properly.
* Or you can come in with the intention of building a full Secondary division, recruiting and developing consultants underneath you, earning team override, and eventually stepping away from billing once agreed targets are achieved.
* There is long-term potential for shares or equity. Both Directors are still hands-on running their own desks but have made it clear that longer term they would like to step back. For the right person, there is a genuine pathway into senior leadership.
Growth and Support
* The agency is in a new growth phase. They have performed strongly and are now focused on scaling further. You would be part of shaping that — identifying new market areas, contributing to strategy and building something with proper backing.
* They are also on the verge of securing significant investment to support further development and expansion.
* There is a strong compliance team in place, which keeps administration under control so consultants can focus on billing and relationships.
* Because they are growing, the package is open for discussion. Salary, commission structure and work-from-home flexibility can all be negotiated for the right person.
What They Are Looking For
You must have experience in education recruitment. Ideally Secondary supply, but Primary or SEND backgrounds will be considered if you understand the education market and want to build.
You need to be commercially minded, confident in a 360 role, capable of developing school relationships and comfortable operating with autonomy.
This role suits someone who wants to move away from corporate red tape and into an environment where they can build something properly, be trusted, and have genuine long-term upside.
