Employment Adviser – Reed in Partnership
Reed in Partnership’s Employability Division supports individuals who are unemployed, economically inactive, or facing challenges such as health conditions, disabilities, or caring responsibilities. The division helps them find sustainable employment through one-to-one careers guidance, CV writing, interview preparation, and skills training.
Pay: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (part‑time arrangements may be considered)
What the role is about
As an Employment Adviser you will be on the front line of support, contributing to our mission by engaging with jobseekers, local employers and promoting the Restart Scheme – a 12‑month personalised programme for the long‑term unemployed.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
- Meet with and support a caseload of long‑term unemployed participants, identify barriers and develop tailored action plans to progress them into employment.
- Deliver one‑to‑one guidance on CV writing, interview preparation and skills development.
- Achieve and exceed performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with participants to build confidence and a proactive mindset.
- Engage with local employers to identify suitable job opportunities.
- Signpost participants to internal and external stakeholders for support with health, housing or financial challenges.
- Promote the Restart Scheme within the local community to raise awareness of its benefits.
- Provide inclusive support and advice to people from all backgrounds, upholding fairness, openness and honesty.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated coaching/mentoring experience with persuasive or influencing skills.
- Experience working in a customer–facing environment (e.g., customer service, hospitality, social care, sales).
- Experience in a fast‑paced, performance‑targeted setting.
- Willingness to travel locally to meet participants and employers.
- Minimum of two A‑Levels or equivalent Level3 Diploma, and GCSE English Language at a minimum of a GradeB (or equivalent).
- Alternatively, achievement of a Level2 in Literacy Assessment at interview or International Equivalents.
- Desirable: Fluency in more than one language.
