The Innovation Graduate role involves supporting innovation projects through Lear's Innovation Hub, in addition to completing placements in various departments over the 2-year programme. As part of the Lear EU & Africa Seating organisation, Innovation Graduates will work closely with colleagues from Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, IT, and Compliance departments to lead the delivery of applied technologies and Industry 4.0 initiatives aimed at enhancing operational outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Support the planning, execution, and completion of Innovation projects across the EMEA region, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
* Assist in building business cases for new ideas and projects, including impact assessment and financial benefits.
* Document exploration paths, learnings and project progress.
Innovation and Product Development
* Support the development of new products and processes or the enhancement of existing ones.
* Ensure that Innovation initiatives align with operation needs and the company's strategic goals.
* Conduct market and technology research to identify trends and opportunities applicable to the project.
Collaboration and Communication
* Collaborate with other departments, including operations and IT, to ensure that Innovation efforts are aligned with business needs and market demand.
* Communicate the progress, challenges, and outcomes of Innovation projects to other business stakeholders, providing regular updates and recommendations for future actions.
* Manage relationships with external partners, including universities, research institutions, and suppliers, to foster collaboration and access new technologies or knowledge.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as operations, IT and production, to ensure the smooth transition of products from development to implementation.
Qualifications
* The ideal candidate will hold a degree in an engineering or technical field and possess a passion for innovation through technology and processes.
* Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
* Internship, academic or project experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking or digital transformation is desirable.
* Curious mindset with passion for innovation, technology and creative problem-solving.
* Analytical thinking and ability to balance creativity with feasibility.
