Job Title: Senior Sustainability Consultant

We are seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join the Group Sustainability & Stewardship team on a permanent basis. The role can be based in Alderley Edge, Edinburgh, or London.
As part of the team, you will provide consultancy advice, analysis, and insights on sustainability and stewardship matters, supporting the Group in integrating climate change and sustainability into business decisions and practices.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the operational emissions process, from data collection to reporting, ensuring compliance with GHG Protocol and PCAF, acting as SME.
2. Review and challenge the portfolio emissions process, including investment data analysis.
3. Design and implement the carbon offset strategy, securing buy-in from senior stakeholders.
4. Provide research, insights, and consultancy advice on sustainability topics, including regulatory guidance and industry best practices.
5. Support teams in incorporating climate and sustainability considerations into organizational practices.
6. Identify and recommend improvements to sustainability approaches, assessing feasibility, risks, costs, and benefits.
7. Assist team members with daily objectives and review their work as needed.
Candidate Profile
1. Strong understanding of pensions and asset management sectors.
2. Knowledge of operational and value chain emissions, including portfolio emissions.
3. Familiarity with GHG calculation, reporting, and PCAF standards.
4. Understanding of carbon offsetting approaches is a plus.
5. Ability to analyze large data sets and interpret data from external providers like MSCI.
6. Relevant qualifications, such as actuarial, investments, or accounting, are valuable.
7. Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
8. Team player capable of supporting and advising junior staff.
