Some roles change lives - this is one of them. We’re seeking a compassionate, driven, and experienced Ward Manager to lead a specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Leeds. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of a dedicated team providing comfort, dignity, and expert care to people living with life-limiting conditions, ensuring every patient and family receives the support they deserve.
The Role
As a Ward Manager, you’ll lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the highest standards of evidence-based palliative care. From rota planning to strategic service improvements, you’ll combine hands-on clinical leadership with the ability to motivate and support your team through change. Collaboration with healthcare professionals, commissioners, and families will be central to your success.
Key duties include:
Leading and developing the ward nursing team
Managing staffing levels, workloads, and resources
Upholding exceptional standards of patient care and safety
Building strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Driving clinical quality, training, and service development
Supporting a culture of compassion, learning, and inclusivityYou’ll Need
NMC Registered Nurse (active PIN)
Significant palliative care experience
Strong leadership and team management track record
Understanding of current healthcare legislation and safeguarding
