The role of the Materials and Supplies Planner is to maintain uninterrupted supply of materials to support manufacturing operations at the Liverpool site, whilst optimising stock levels to minimise material obsolescence.
Responsibilities
1. Define and manage the supply of both BOM and Non-BOM direct materials
1. Using SAP define a materials delivery schedule which supports the production plan taking account any planned material changes.
2. Place orders on suppliers to acquire materials in line with agreed site specifications, pricing, lead times and shelf life.
3. Provide monthly forecast to key vendors of future procurement needs
4. Responsible for the maintenance of MRP master data and parameters, to ensure accuracy. to drive a robust, achievable materials plan which supports the production plan
5. Responsible for release prioritisation with the Incoming QC team
2. Proactively manage costs and risks associated with materials
6. Define and implement vendor communication processes which provide positive assurance of future deliveries and early warning of potential issues.
7. Optimise inventory levels to minimise expiry of materials without business risk
8. Provide oversight of materials to ensure Pandemic Prepardness
9. Review material expiry report, with follow up investigation and actions as required
10. Responsible for the generation of Quality Notifications for redundant/expired materials
11. Input to the monthly S&OP process detailing material exposures/risks for a rolling 24 month period.
3. Contribute to overall Supply Chain functional excellence
12. Actively participate at tiered accountability meetings across site
13. Provide departmental cover as required
14. Take on an appropriate share of departmental support activities (training, SAP data housekeeping, new materials introduction)
15. Accountable contribution to the weekly materials review process
16. Evaluate and Implement Change Control actions which impact Supply Chain Materials
17. Owner / Investigator of quality incidents and deviations required for material issues
18. Support Seqirus’ Pandemic Readiness plan as required
19. Facilitate cross departmental Supply Chain Materials Review meeting
20. Lead and contribute in departmental process improvements
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

27. Highly competent in SAP for planning and control, or similar ERP system.
28. Highly competent in Microsoft Excel
Education Requirements
29. Degree in suitable discipline or significant experience in a responsible Supply Chain or procurement role
30. SAP literate (MRP, vendor forecasting, CRP, process order release)
31. Commercially astute
Experience Requirements
32. Knowledge and experience of Supply Chain planning and management – a number of years’ experience in Supply Chain / Planning.
