Role Responsibility

Term Time Only 39 Weeks Per Year

We are seeking highly organised and proactive Communities Clerks to join our SEND Centralised Business Support Team, supporting the delivery of the new Communities of Schools (CoS) model across Kent.

There are 53 Communities of Schools in Kent, working collaboratively to provide joined-up, local support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring these multiagency partnerships operate effectively and professionally.

About the role

As a Communities Clerk, you will provide comprehensive administrative and organisational support to the Chairs of a number of Communities of Schools, helping to ensure meetings, records and processes run smoothly and within required timescales.

You will be responsible for:

- Supporting and coordinating multiagency Communities of Schools meetings

- Producing highquality, accurate minutes and tracking actions to completion

- Managing diaries and inboxes on behalf of Chairs

- Acting as the first point of contact for Chairs, responding professionally to queries from schools, partners and stakeholders

- Maintaining and updating SharePoint files and folders in line with GDPR, record retention and FOI requirements

- Completing and submitting Requests for Resources within agreed timescales

- Collating quarterly reports for governance purposes

- Supporting wider management tasks, including research, data analysis, events and training bookings

- Working flexibly as part of a wider administrative team to ensure cover across all Communities of Schools

This is a hybrid role. While some homeworking is available, you will be required to work across KCC buildings and schools within your Communities of Schools area as business needs require. This is a term-time only role.

We are currently seeking three Communities Clerks to support with Communities in East Kent (Thanet, Swale, and Canterbury), West Kent (Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge & Malling), and North Kent (Dartford and Gravesham).

If youre an organised, detailfocused professional who enjoys supporting partnership working that makes a real difference to children and families, wed love to hear from you.

This post is subject to a Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Any applicants interested in this role should apply at their earliest convenience, as the closing date for applications may be earlier than stated above, if a high number of suitably qualified candidates apply.
