What will you be doing?
* Lead and support Design Engineers within the team
* Prioritise workload and manage project schedules to meet business targets
* Act as key technical interface with customers; manage requirements and updates
* Oversee design validation to ensure performance and reliability
* Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and reports
* Drive new product development and continuous improvement
* Support prototype builds and testing activities
* Present design solutions and progress to internal stakeholders
* Mentor and develop junior engineers
Where will you be doing it?
* You'll be based at an established engineering and manufacturing site in Kendal, working within a detailed design team focused on pump products. The role supports global OEM customers across power generation and industrial markets, with close collaboration across cross functional engineering teams in a hands on, technically driven environment.
What will you need?
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; or equivalent experience
* Strong post qualification experience in design engineering
* Experience with rotating equipment; pumps or turbomachinery preferred
* Understanding of engineering design processes and product lifecycle
* Strong 3D CAD capability; SolidWorks preferred
* Experience producing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications
* Strong knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T
* Experience leading or mentoring engineers
* Good stakeholder management and communication skills
* Organised approach with ability to manage deadlines
