Office Manager (Assistant to the School Business Manager)

Salary: FTE Grade 5 SCP 12 £28,598 – SCP 23 £34,434 (Pro Rata). Actual Salary: £26,725 - £32,179. Hourly Rate: £14.82 – £17.84. Hours: 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year. Working Hours: 8:15am – 4:15pm.


Overview

Ready to be at the heart of a thriving primary school? This is not just an admin role — this is a leadership position where you will influence how our school operates day-to-day and strategically.

Help drive improvements across finance, HR, administration, and site management while working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager.


Responsibilities

* Lead and manage a dedicated admin team.
* Support and oversee key aspects of school finance (Bromcom).
* Play a vital role in HR processes and staff management, helping ensure the school runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
* Act as a key point of contact for staff, parents and visitors.


Qualifications

* Organised, proactive and calm under pressure.
* Confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Experienced in school administration and finance systems (ideally Bromcom).
* Strong communicator capable of building positive relationships with everyone.
* Able to lead, motivate and support a team.
* Solutions-focused, with a sharp eye for improving systems and processes.
